A Royal Message from Oba Adetayo Adenuga (Ayegbami 1st of Midlands, UK)
Dear sons and daughters of Yorùbá,
I greet you with love, peace, and pride in who we are. Our culture is a treasure—rich in history, wisdom, and beauty. As Yorùbá people in the UK and across the world, we carry something powerful within us: the legacy of Odùduwà, the strength of our language, and the grace of our traditions. Let us stay united. Let us teach our children our oríkì, our greetings, our dances, our history. Let us gather not just in celebration, but in remembrance and purpose. Wherever we are, Yorùbá must not fade.
We must let it shine.
Àṣà wa l'ọlá wa – Our culture is our honour.
Ẹ káàbọ̀ s’áyé àsà, ìtàn àti ìbáṣepọ̀ wa.

“I may wear a crown, but the greatest honour I have is serving our people, preserving our culture, and helping our children know who they are.”
HIS ROYAL MAJESTY OONI OF IFE – THE OLORI ALADE OF YORUBA LAND
In the annals of Yoruba civilisation, few thrones command the spiritual, cultural, and historical reverence of the sacred stool of Oduduwa — the throne of the Ooni of Ife. His Royal Majesty, Ọọni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, stands today as the living custodian of this divine legacy, a beacon of unity, and the undisputed Olori Alade — the crowned head — of the Yoruba nation.
A royal descendant of the House of Giesi, Ọọni Ogunwusi embodies wisdom, humility, and divine calling. He is not only a king but also a bridge between the ancestral past and the visionary future of the Yoruba people. His reign has seen the renaissance of Yoruba pride, tradition, and identity, inspiring millions across Nigeria and the global diaspora to reconnect with their roots.
Ọọni Ogunwusi is a man of peace, culture, and progress. Under his leadership, Ile-Ife — the cradle of civilisation — continues to flourish as a spiritual homeland for all Yorubas. Through countless initiatives in arts, education, youth empowerment, and intercontinental cultural diplomacy, Kabiyesi has projected the brilliance of Yoruba heritage to the world stage.
We celebrate His Majesty as the Arole Oodua, the earthly representative of Oduduwa, the progenitor of the Yoruba race. He is the royal flame that rekindles ancestral dignity, the lion that roars with wisdom, and the peacemaker who wears the crown of harmony.
May the crown of Ọọni Ogunwusi never fall. May the land of Ile-Ife know everlasting peace and prosperity under his reign.
Kabiyesi. Káre, Olú-ìlú! Káre, Arole Oodua!
